08-Dec-2005Mario Renato Uriarte Amaya in The
New Cult of Dead Cow writes that there is a bug in Firefox such
that a fragment of Javascript code on a page can cause a growth in
the history.dat file which subsequently causes a hang in Firefox on
starting up. The solution is to delete the history.dat file and
attempt to re-start Firefox. A version of the Javascript code is
available on his page if anyone wants to try to reproduce the bug. JorgeBec in Ingenieria
de Software posts a link to the document Use
Cases: Background, Best Practices and Benefits and provides the
following picture of a use case model. Juan Palacio in Navegapolis
posts a couple of links to the controversy between Randy Miller,
process architect for Microsoft Solutions Framework and Ken Schwaber,
co-creator of Scrum. Randy posted an article, Agile
Software Development for the Entire Project, in which he says
that MSF for Agile Software Development is composed of a set of
proven practices commonly used to build software at Microsoft. Using
MSF eliminates the need to use combinations such as Scrum with XP or
RUP. On the other hand, Ken in a an article, Trends
in Scrum and Agile, writes that Scrum is not a process and
doesn't introduce changes into the way of working: “One has to
wonder at the mismatch between large, hierarchical, command and
control organizations providing guidance on Agile”. Juan
Palacio picks out a principle from the Agile
Manifesto: “Individuals and interactions over processes and
tools”. |
